Tadum Lockyer accepted an award on behalf of Juluwarlu for best documentary - "Juluwarlu Journey" - at the 11th Remote Indigenous Media Festival at TEABBA (Top End Aboriginal Broadcasting Association) in Darwin.
Three other JAC productions were also screened – Pilbara Voices/Youth Leadership; Yindjibarndi One Claim; and FMG Survey. JAC’s use of media in support of the Y1 claim and the voices of Pilbara youth were praised.
Besides the screenings of other media groups – there was some fantastic cultural recording, doco and comedy - the best part of the Festival was some focus group work around ICTV and plans to get it broadcasting again. ICTV has reached an agreement with the Western Australian Government for carriage of ICTV over the State Government WestLink education satellite from 6PM Friday through to 6AM Monday
Thank you to Frank Rijavec for this report.
